Yes I guess we have witnessed this new trojan BB team.

Mike Gerrity, yep 5th year senior can pass, dribble, and set up his post men which makes the offense open up for 15-20 foot shots.  He might be quicker than Mr. Francis (RIP) his ability to blast by opposing guards makes everything else easier. Now with Alex Stephenson getting in shape day by day, next to arrive is Mr. Washington, Mr James Boyd (24+ Rebs HS), Mr. Korri Ennis (PG-SG) This will complete the Trojan team for 09-10. I have watched Cal, Wash, Stan, ucla and I don't see better teams I see beatable teams, so it looks like a nice Pac-10 party this year.

Boyd is a football player...

and after 4-5 months playing with Carroll and company, I doubt he really makes much of an impact this year. Although, it doesn’t necessarily hurt to have an extra body or two out there.

Who is Cory Ennis?

I do not know who this is? And, I wonder who from football will play? Cameron, Boyd, and Greene?

I worry about

Stephenson and Nikola playing too many minutes. Its going to be a tough year for those two.

when leanard is eligible

there will be 80 minutes divided at the PF and C spots between leanard, nikola and alex.. so imagine 30 minutes for alex, 30 for nikola, and 20 for leonard,…. this way, they can all be fresh..

for the PG spot, i would say 35 minutes for gerrity and 5 for donte

SG SF has 80 minutes on the floor.. 35 for dwight lewis, 25 for marcus johnson, 20 for marcus simmons

i think we can compete in the down pac ten this year…

Be surprised if it works out that way

Leonard is going to see a lot more than 20 minutes per game. He can actually shoot a bit and could turn out to be the Team’s best player by the end of the season. Leo is going to see time at the SF spot, you can book it.

yep you are right...

he will see time at the small forward spot when we decide to go big…

so he will be taking some minutes away from marcus simmons and johnson then.. but you can book 30+ minutes for stephenson and vececic

I'm not a big fan of Washington's attitude

which I hope he has adjusted. But I am a fan of his athletic ability. I hope he has straightened out his rough edges and represents us well this season. Please no more nutsack punches, or technical fouls Leonard.

You can't even do that in MMA!

So, yeah- although I agree that Leo’s preferred payback was totally off base, Blake Griffin harassed him into it and the ref’s in that game were giving Griffin a long and loose leash to abuse our front-court guys. Griffin has the ability to go up and over, but when matched with bodies of equal strength- he resorts to dirty/uncalled bball play.

I’m in no way endorsing that behavior of retaliation from our Trojans, and I suspect neither will Coach Kev. Leo can play, he just has to let the refs obtain better judgment as the game plays on and hope, hope the calls will go our way.

There’s no hiding that nutsack shot. He should have been suspended by Coach Timmeh for a few games for that. But, damn. . . . .! That was a painful to watch our boys getting manhandled.

I think the refs in the Pac 10 have a lot more respect for our current coach than they did for our last one. That’s something to consider moving forward. And, I think our current coach has developed a reputation of playing clean, hard-nosed ball and he will not tolerate that kind of behavior from our players. The looseness of player-conduct on and off the court is being cleaned up as we speak. Even if we lose from here on out, I’m proud watching our basketball team play. I’m even more proud of the boys still out in Trojan uniforms who’ve weathered this crazy storm that is Trojan basketball, those that played last year and those that decided to stick through their remaining scholarship years.

Fight On Coach Kev!
Thanks so much, in more ways than one for taking the job and cleaning the joint up!

That's it Bix the difference from KO and TF

Tim would yell at the team and the refs all game, were Kevin just works the team into DEE aggression and offense and an occasional what up with that call to REFs
