Welcome, Oregon, to the world USC’s been living in for the past seven seasons. If you establish yourself as the team to beat in the Pac-10, one week’s win will be followed by the best shot from the arsenal of another fiercely-determined opponent. Maybe the rest of America should realize that all those USC losses to Oregon State really aren’t as bad as they’ve been perceived over time.

good post it’s hard to always win your conference games when everyone is gunning for you Oregon got a taste of what it’s like to be the top dog in the conference. I think the Pac 10 champ will be one of these four teams USC Arizona Oregon or Stanford

Good post
This is very true. The law of probability has USC reverting to the norm because the other teams focus on rising to our level for that one game. But, no other team can handle the pressure to go on a long run like we just did. Just shows how incredible the 7 year run was.
And, don’t count OSU out of the Rose Bowl. They actually have the easiest schedule, with the Washingtons still ahead, and have the best playing QB right now in Canfield.

A lot has to happen for us to get into the Rose Bowl. Losing to Arizona early on hurt. But we are all hoping that they still lose a few more games, which a lot of us think will happen
Problem is, two of their remaining games are against you and Oregon, two teams we need to lose.

We'll take care of Zona,
if you’ll take care of the Ducks. Tall order in Autzen, but that would be sweet. I hate Oregon, and the Civil War is always one of the most exciting rivalry games. Canfield should be able to pass all over them.

No matter what our offense does
The key really is figuring out a way to stop that offense. Its so powerful.
I think the key is playing them straight up. I think SC blitzed too much for their own good. A good QB (like Masoli) can read those blitzes now. I think Pete Carroll thought last year’s strategy would work this year. I’m sure he’ll figure something out for next year

Thats the pac 10 for you
The talent gap between the top teams and the rest of the conference is shrinking. With the exception of Washington State and ucla, just about any team has a shot of winning against any of the top teams.

This is a great post....
And like all of you were saying, it’s just shows how special the past several years has been. It really shows how much more amped the Pac-10 teams are when they know they are playing the top dog in the conference and I’m glad that Oregon got a taste of something we have been doing since early 2000’s. It certainly ain’t easy but that’s why we’re USC! FiGHT ON!

I guess this means
that USC doe indeed still have a chance to win the Pac-10. Never underestimate the Ducks propensity to fold during the final 3 games.

Ain't life a BITCH
Stanford with 2 weeks to prepare gets it done, it will be tough and even if Sc doesn’t get pac-10. I would hope that if we could win out (tall order but possible) we get to 6 rank in BCS polls which would mean an match-up with the Alabama or Florida loser. All in all we need 2 leaders to emerge in the coming games.
Please don't tell me what to do or think, what I might say is a personal opinion.

To be honest.....
I think in my opinion, the way I would like to see the season wrapping up is with Oregon losing one more and still getting the nod to the Rose Bowl and we find ourselves against UF/Bama/UT in the Fiesta Bowl. That would be sweet. But we still got a tough schedule ahead.
