Brian Theriot

needs to seriously just shut his trap. He has been yapping about the lack of PT for his son the ENTIRE time that his son has been enrolled at UCLA – both with Dorrell and now with Neuheisel. He’s a regular loudmouth on many of the UCLA message boards, and his antics are just tiring. Frankly, the fact that the OCR gives this sort of stuff the time of day makes me laugh.

I’m glad he gets some sort of smug satisfaction out of questioning everyone who is involved in the talent evaluation of his son. Seriously, he needs to stop living vicariously through the imagined greatness of his kid.

And you want my honest opinion? The only reason Theriot ever sniffed a scholarship at UCLA is because Dorrell basically drove that place flat into the ground. No way Theriot sniffs a scholarship at UCLA if he’s coming of age anytime from the mid-80s through the mid-90s. The kid was a recruited walk-on during the Dorrell years, for crying out loud.

Well, you know better than us...

I just found it incredible that a parent would publicly call a coach out like that…we had a similar issue with Hazelton’s dad but not like this…

Knowing nothing about the elder Theriot, could he really do my better? A little conceited to think you can do better than all these experienced coaches. I like how he picked the current starters as ‘his’ starters with the addition of his son. This is just the case of a player’s parent thinking his son should start. What parent wouldn’t think that? As for coaching better than the UCLA staff, I’m sure there a lot of us out there that think that, but there’s a slight difference between thinking it & it being reality.

If they don't want Chow

Maybe we can find a home for him?

An outspoken parent at SC...

earns a lifetime pass to PC’s doghouse and a free bus ticket to the Big East. I wonder how CRNeuweasel will respond. {insert the “eating popcorn” smiley here}

The bigger picture.

Okay. I’ll admit that I don’t know much football compared to CC’s regular bloggers.

But is it possible that the bigger picture is that Norm Chow’s style of offense is out-dated. Is pro-style, I formation football dead.

UCLA (both Neuheisel Chow) are completely wedded to the pro style and their offense is dead in the water.

While USC is better offensively because they have significantly more talent. However, USC got spanked terribly by an Oregon team with less talent but more skill at the spread.

Florida has both talent and the spread and they are working on their third National Championship in four years.

A fair question, but only time will tell.

Great balls of fire

I can yap away on this blog all I want, secure in the knowledge that whatever’s happening in the team isn’t my problem to fix, but I at least try to be polite about it.

Who on earth would think that this was a good idea when talking about their son and his football coaches? It’s not helping the coaches and it surely can’t be helping young Mr Theriot.

The best parenting advice I ever got was learn to let go, and get good at it much sooner than you want. UCLA football may be at a bit of a low ebb at the moment, but it’s not like it’s going to ruin young Mr Theriot’s life. This seems like a “let go” moment, as opposed to time to try and play the voice of truth.

This just in...

…Neuheisel hires grouchy parent as Assistant Strength and Conditioning coach to smooth things over. Besides, its one less scholarship to count!

I thought he was more crabby than grouchy
