7. I don’t know why Stanford’s Jim Harbaugh decided to run it up on USC. I know that USC’s Pete Carroll has bullied some teams in the Pac 10 through the years, and we know what they say about payback. But Harbaugh is building a good program at Stanford. This was a great victory for his team. Why not stay above the usual nonsense and win with class? By needlessly going for a 2-pt conversion in a 55-21 blowout, Harbaugh took the focus off Stanford’s magnificent performance at USC. Instead, writers and pundits and fans and talking heads are yapping about that in-your-face conversion.

I really wonder where this thing all started?
I remember pac-10 media day in Harbutts first year he got into it with PC, but who really knows why. Did this start years ago when he was playing for the bears and Pete was coaching, go figure. But yes what an idiot winning in a dominating fashion at the coliseum was going to add to their recruiting. But when he pulled the 2 pt conversion he actually slapped himself in the face. I guess we will never know but now Stanford and TB have a nice Bulls-eye on their backs.
Please don't tell me what to do or think, what I might say is a personal opinion.

usc may score points when they are up big, but pete seemed to always go out of his way to not do things like that- subbing in backups and walk-ons and not passing. very classless on harbaugh's part.
At USC we're not snobs, we're just better than you.
This is a prime example of not knowing how to win with class.
Can’t blame them. Being a perennial loser has that kind of effect on a person. Let’s hope that Stanford doesn’t need SC to beat Arizona to get them in the Rose Bowl.
Once again
I don’t care about the 2 point conversion. i don’t think that Pete cares either, but he probably noted it, and will return the favor when he can.
It's Harbaugh
Okay, as a Cal fan I have more than enough hate for Harbaugh. But I have more dislike for this guy than I ever did for Willingham, or Green, or any other Furd coach. For some reason, Harbaugh just comes off as a real prick.
This is all speculation, based on what I’ve seen/read/heard about this guy, but he really does seem like the sort of guy who needs to do that little bit extra and unnecessary thing to satisfy his ego and give validation to his belief that he is better than others. He talks way too much, seems to hold his peers and other programs in disdain, and buys in to the whole hype about Furd being superior.
It’s almost as if he makes things too personal.
Naturally, college football is a very competitive and emotional game, but for the most part there is a level of distance between the game and the people. Yes, you want to beat your rivals as badly as possible, but for the most part coaches, players, students, alumni, and fans are able to maintain at least some level of perspective. For the most part. Because there are always those (cough-bn-cough) who aren’t able to do that, and they are the irritating ones. However, this sort of childish behavior is almost always seen in the fan/student group. It’s pretty rare to find a coach who behaves with this level of immaturity. Like, Harbaugh.
Of course, this might just be a product of the beginning of a week of Furd hating on my part.

Recd!
Any Chargers fan will agree you hit the nail on the head Oski. I put a similar comment up in another thread . Harbaugh is a lunatic loudmouth and a drunk, perfect Raiders (and Furd) material.
