Here's your bright spot for the day...
Bumped - This is far more important than any win or loss ...P
From an AP Wire story:
Although Stafon Johnson only spoke seven words, they were loaded with meaning and hope. Repeating the last words spoken to him by his late grandfather, the Southern California tailback said, "God has a plan. Run, Stafon, run."
Johnson already can speak in a soft, raspy voice less than three months after a weight bar crushed his throat in a potentially fatal weight room accident. He briefly demonstrated his remarkable recovery Saturday before the Trojans' game against Stanford.
"Just the whisper, it was a big thing," said Kim Mallory, Johnson's mother. "I wasn't expecting any type of sound for a while. It's overwhelming."
Johnson also has regained the ability to swallow and eat solid food, an improbably quick achievement after several operations on his neck, according to the doctors who have supervised his recovery since the late-September accident in the USC weight room.
Johnson was ambivalent about playing again, and that's more than fair enough... but I'm delighted that he's recovering so quickly.

Great to see the kid doing well.
Maybe you will see him on the field again. His recovery seems nothing short of remarkable.

"Run Staphon, run"
It gave me chills to listen to Staphon speak after his horrible accident. I truly hope he will fulfill his grandfather’s dreams in the NFL. Run Staphon, run. You are a great inspiration.

This is great news
A true silver lining on an otherwise bad day for the program.

I saw Stafon's presser
and agree that his recovery is truly amazing. It must be breaking his heart to see what’s happened to the team since his tragic accident. I sincerely wish him the best whether he returns or heads off to the NFL

As I much as I love Stafon
He will NEVER play football again…that injury is a big deal. I don’t care what his doctors say.

From a medical standpoint I agree with you Para, but I hate to kill the guy’s dreams. I saw him on the news last night and you could see he’s yearning to get back, he can eat now and has started to speak. His tragedy is an exclamation mark on this forlorn season, but we’ve all got to Fight On.

I still remember the story about a kid that slice open his kneecap so severe that the good doctor said he would never walk let alone run.
WHO was that kid well that kid is the woman’s Basketball coach at USC—-Micheal Cooper
