Boise and Cincy
I say that USC deserves to be jumped over Boise if/when we beat Oregon and to jump over Cincinatti if/when we beat Oregon State. Margin of victory won’t enter into it. Those were the big games for those programs whereas USC also would also have road wins at Ohio State, Cal, and hopefully Notre Dame on the resume.

Like it or not Undefeated means something in my eyes
I realize that that the Wac and Big East are subpar overall but the Pac-10 hasn’t exactly lit it up the past few years. SC gets the benefit of the doubt as do those those schools.
Take out the UW and WSU wins last year and we see a very different story if you are into stats.
Cincinnati must go
Boise State – ok, I get the “until they lose . . .” reasoning although we’d beat them by 3 TDs. Drop Cincinnati below USC and I agree with your ballot.
But let me add: we would beat ANYONE currently ranked above us. But that’s the story of our lives since 2006 isn’t it. Thanks again Mr. Corp.
Wow what about CWucla how come they aren't ranked
I guess after the Weasel started his we just missed on a couple of plays and his chastising the QB on the sideline thing. You would think that would be enough to get them rated #1 at being the most rank team.

LSU moves up?
Did you watch their game? LSU is awful. They did leave a few points on the field but still. They are a mediocre team that seems to be skating by on reputation alone.
[DELETED ZOMG NO POLITICS]
They were awful against Miss St. last week, barely go out of there because the Bulldogs turned it over 4-5 times. The pretty much suck, but hey, it’s the SEC.
LSU has one more lucky games over the last few years...
Not a statistic, just an opinion. It seems like they are consistently pulling last second wins out of their butts. They are soooo beatable an EVERY given Saturday.
Again undefeated...
Didn’t SC benefit last year after that god awful performance in the second half against ASU. Heck, what about last week against WSU…they come out firing in the 1st Qtr but disappear until a late TD in the 4th…
27-6 against WSU is not dominating in my eyes yet SC went up in my poll…Same with LSU and they are undefeated.
How many people thought that UGA was going to win that game? I did…
Implosion Pending
They should have lost to Miss St, then UGA had them right where they wanted them with 1 minute left. I do have to give credit. LSU consistently pulls out wins in adverse situations. They have some kind of cajun voodoo working for them.
But, 3 of the next 4 are Florida, Auburn and Bama. IMPLOSION! Let’s do hope they beat Florida at home first, then implode.
That would be very nice,
and then Texas loses so we can finally get a crack at a one-loss Florida in the NC. We’re huge Oklahoma fans until the play and hopefully beat Texas. One loss Florida, one loss Texas and USC, that will throw the BCS for a loop.
I just don't see Texas losing
I know the odds favor them losing, but it looks like only OU has a decent shot. Texas hasn’t played anyone yet, so they haven’t earned a lot of respect this season. But, I feel confident that Texas is an excellent club, and McCoy is arguable the best QB in the country. They will be very tough to beat.
What about this scenario? Florida, Bama and Texas all lose a game? LSU beats Florida, but Florida beats Bama in the SEC champ. OU beats Texas but loses another game, so Texas wins the Big-12 with 1 loss. USC, UT, Bama and Florida all with one loss? Can USC jump a one-loss Texas, who will benefit tremendously from having a conference championship game?
Wow...
The human polls will give it to Florida and Texas, but the computers are going to love SC’s sos. It’s all moot if we don’t win out.
SoS
UT has played cupcake U to date, but they have ranked OU, Ok St, Mizzu, and Kansas all in the 2nd half of the season. Plus, they would play a ranked Kansas, Mizzu, or Nebraska in the B12 Champ. So, 5 games still to play against ranked teams.
Most P10 fans are ragging on the B12 with good reason. But, they do have 6 ranked teams right now. I’m pretty sure that 1-loss UT will have a strong enough strength of schedule to get the nod over 1 loss USC. The conference championship/points boost/showcase against a ranked opponent is a big advantage over the P10.
But, I am pretty sure that SC will lose again this season. Our crystal ball is 1 or 2 years away, I think.
I was wrong about Stanford Paragon!
You were right about them from the beginning of the year. For some reason, being a kid who’s dad had season basketball (men and women) and football tickets growing up- they never had “that oomph”, and this year- I didn’t have much hopes for them. Geeze, on both fronts- Oregon and Stanford. . . .I WAS WRONG.
Damn! Either I love the shit outta college football or. . . .I hate it immensely.
Good going Para, Stanford has my undivided attention now.

Nice Poll
I would drop ND and keep OU in. ND has no good wins to deserve a ranking. And, OU is still very talented. Other than that, I like this poll. I think the Boise, TCU, Cinci respect at this point in the season, given that NO ONE else other than Bama looks like a champ, is fair. I think each one of those teams is a legit top 15 squad.
Halloween
We’ll be the ones dressed as Pac 10 Champions, just so you’ll recognize us. White tops, cardinal stripe on the shoulder.
Yep, I wonder what color clown suit the *ucks will be wearing on Halloween.

George at WeAreSC dot com. . . .
. . . .wrote in his “Potpourri” column on 2009.10.07 about scoring, O & D “balance” – “ranking”, and Sagarin score for USC as it compares to Top 10 teams in the country (albeit, utilizing just FL, TX, VTech, Bama, LSU, Cincinnati and TCU) and with that, he drew some interesting observations and conclusions. I think it’s worthy of considerations concerning this week’s ballot poll.
Overall, considering TX and FL have only played 4 games and, more importantly- both of these teams have two of the worst Sagarin score thus far in the 2009 football season. So, it’s safe to say once these two teams get into the meat of their respective conference schedule- their respective O & D balance and scoring will drop considerably. (notice: FL’s scoring output against the cupcake teams they’ve played and their one game vs. SEC opponent, Tennessee. basically- accumulating only half their scoring vs. TN as opposed to, say. . . .Charleston Southern. I mean, IS THAT REALLY A SCHOOL with a football team or is it a SEC business front to “launder” wins? Oh, right! Same difference)
To conclude, only LSU and VTech have comparable games, data, and Sagarin scores to base or judge USC’s season thus far. And by comparison, USC is not doing as bad as we (and most America) perceive them to be, nor any more worse than the pundits and haters are trying to brainwash us into believing. Have we played poorly? Yes, this much is certain. Are we unworthy of being considered a Top 5 team in the country? Maybe, if you think UW is a hellaciously awful team that got “lucky” with LSU and Idaho (they tanked it vs. Stanford for sure, but lost to the Fighting Rash by incompetent Pac 10 referee-ing). Is USC undeserving of their #7 ranking? No way, as a matter of fact, they’re a much better team than VTech and LSU who are both ranked higher than them, and only time will tell how they compare to TX and FL once both those teams gain a 80-plus point rating- as it applies to their Sagarin score/SOS. Are 6 teams actually better than USC at this point in time in the college football season? No, and the data bears this out- only Alabama can say without question that they have a much better football team than USC, and subjectively- only FL, TX and tOSU fans with complete disdain for Pac 10 football can have the opinion that they are more complete teams than us. Even still, we BEAT tOSU so, there’s that AND as well- FL and TX HAVE TO ACTUALLY PLAY a team or two in the near future with a true BCS championship pulse to have any degree of veracity of opinion in this matter.
Verbosely, Bix says USC is definitely in the Top 4- LSU, although undefeated at this point- and VTech, with their only loss to ‘Bama ARE NOT better than us, and TCU and Cincinnati? Uh. . . .reality of being in the BCS championship game, anyone? Just sayin’. So, no. Uh-uh, TCU and Cincy cannot compete with us right now, with this team of ours- ESPECIALLY if we put RoJo and Mondo back on the pitch in a hypothetical game tomorrow.
But yeah, keep LSU and VTech in front of us- if you’re (the general ms-media, pundits, and haters. . .not you ParaSC) so inclined. Matter of fact, go ahead and keep TCU, Boise State and Cincy in the discussion of being comparable to our team. But. . . .let’s just see where all these teams stand in December. I like the way it looks for us, in comparison to the other top teams vying for a BCS bowl/championship game consideration right now. For all you good people out there reading this, don’t forget what Pete Carroll’s record is in November games. Just sayin’! (I had to)
