Well...It is the game of the century for this week.
It is simple really, control and protect the ball. Stop Oregon's running game and don't for get the Tight End!
I will be off and on thread during the first half...It's Halloween and we have a lot of kids in our neighborhood who also tend to come late.
I am going to put the thread up early if you want to comment on any of the games in progress. Leave your questions, comments and rants here. Make you score predictions here as well.

I really hate halloween – but it just started raining so with any luck my kids will be back soon, my wife can take over with the candy, and I can get back to what any right-thinking individual should be doing – i.e., watching the game.

One thing about the spread is that they are susceptible to bad snaps out of the shotgun or pad exchanges between the QB and RB. USC just needs to bring the lumber

Also, WTF was with a draw play on 3rd and 13? If you’re going to be punting to give them favorable field position and they haven’t been jumping too many pass routes anyway, why not take a shot? Safety first my ass.

You are absolutely right – and it’s not like I think I could do a better job, but that seemed like and odd selection given the likely field position after the punt, the time left in the half, and Oregon still having 2 time outs.
Mind you, if they had fucked something up and given Oregon a short field or an easy 7 points, I’d have been even more incensed. Maybe I’ll stick to watching the game.

If SC wins this I’ll be thrilled / amazed. We’re chasing the Ducks and I don’t see where we’re going to overtake if the best we can do on defense is hold them to three and the best we can do is score three.

No he hasnt
he can’t cover for shit, he’s a lousy line backer playing safety and he’s killed us this year by playing 10 yards or more deep every play. He goes for the kill shot on any play he’s in instead of trying to play pass defense. He’s awful.

More importantly where was all this criticism of Mays been…this is the first season that ANYONE has questioned it here. I don’t recall a whole lot of complaints before this season…

I don't think there's much to figure out
It’s looking to me like mental mistakes. Overpursuing, not holding your assignment. That’s not really a scheme problem, although positional coaching can help to avoid and correct it.

we can no longer lose to lesser opponent, now that someone has risen to challenge us for years to come. it’s good for pac-10 though. SC is being unseated by a genuinely good team in the pac-10.

The problem is that PC seems to be clueless against the spread. This is not a pattern anymore it’s a stone cold fact. Rocky is PC junior. We need an infusion of new blood from the outside to change things.
