His Excellency Lord Chow The Exhalted and Visionary Jedi Master
and Weasel are inspiring doubts in their erstwhile Ruinland disciples. From Inside UCLA enjoy a few samples:

Chow supposedly the offensive guru and yet in this game the play calling to keep Craft in the pocket instead of going outside. I thought he knew Craft is not comfortable to stay in the pocket on pressure situations.Anonymous said:
It's a good thing we have a genius coordinator and an offensive minded head coach. Imagine how bad the game plan and play calling would be without them.

Play calling sucked. Where has NC disappeared to. This is no the same guy that guided BYU and $c to record setting offenses. I swear but it but the case of the body snatchers. Just an overall terrible offensive schemes that don't produce.
plus this gem:

I also was surprised that Chow didn't go with any screens or draws in the 2-minute drill against all those blitzes. Make them pay for being so aggressive.
Also, after all those slants, where was the pump-fake? I thought we were running the sc-offense now?
Ungrateful louts!

Funny thing they all haven't realized CHOW has never been the head coach in any situation.
Also nobody to this point even wants to hire him as a head coach, even Utah.

The man can only work with what he’s got.
That said, I wonder if he’s getting over-ruled by Neuheisel as much as by Carroll – I read that Chow picked a play that Neuheisel over-rode, and the Neuheisel selection was the one that resulted in a QB with a broken jaw.
Everyone says they want the guru, but no-one wants to listen to what they have to say ;)

That's Funny
Kind of feel sorry for Chow. No O-line and an offensive-genius-in-his-own-mind head coach. Just like Bates, I think the OCs are the least to blame for either teams offensive problems.

He's gone after this season
Weasel has as big an ego as anyone out there and considers himself an offensive wunderkind of no lesser magnitude than Lord Chow. Net result: The Bruins now have a pissing match between to hasbeen NFL OCs, you can guess who’s gonna come out on top.
My sympathies are with Lord Chow of course. There’s still a lot of opportunities out there for him to be a head coach. Who knows, maybe Hawaii could come calling:
“After this past Wednesday’s game,” senior linebacker Blaze Soares said of the 27-6 nationally televised loss to Louisiana Tech, “I didn’t feel we deserved to get a day off. We had a horrible game. The way we played was an embarrassment to this program. To say we represented Hawai’i was embarrassing.”It sounds like they need the Jedi Master.

The big question
and I don’t know if any of our bruin readers know this, is when does the Tennessee Titans money run out, and is Chow on the hook for a year after that cash is gone. He is not going anywhere until after 2010, unless Neu fires him. Because he is basically working for free right now. 2011 is the fastest that he will bolt.

So true frak, Coach Chow is still collecting luciano from the Titans
Besides, why would he wanna go on his own volition to begin with? He’s got a cush job, posh surroundings, and a mad grip of tasty Bruin coeds to gawk at and fawn over him. He’s like (or could be like) the “Hugh Hefner of Westwood”. Shit, I’d be hella down for THAT!
Prince is his juice card in all this. To some extent, so is their Spanish-surnamed fullback/tailback too. With those two cats, coupled with a reasonably-developed/matured Pressley and Carroll (TE & WR)- the Bruin offense can potentially make some serious noise. On paper, they rank (the players) with the best of ‘em in the Pac 10. Chow would be remiss to leave and Coach Neu would be retarded to show him the I-405 door. Hell no Neuheisel would develop these four guys better than Chow. And let’s not forget Slick Dick’s mortality rate as a HC and peak-timeline for losing the players on his teams. . . . . uh. . . .that would be year 3 or 4 on both those fronts. Yeah, the way I see it- Slick Dick will suicide bomb his position sooner or later and/or Coach Chow will prolly shoot for completing his coaching contract for fUcla before he decides to find a pasture that’s greener than Le Conte Tech at Westwood. (is it weird of me to WANT to see Coach Chow succeed and receive recognition for turning around the Bruin program? it’s true. i still love Coach and. . . .I AM weird)

My recollection is that the Titans were on the hook for two years, therefore the 2010 season will require a huge salary adjustment (down) unless the Bruin bigs come through. Just remember they’re getting squeezed for the Pauley renovation right now -and I know first hand that several of them are not happy about it.
You touch on that other issue, which is that Weasel is going to hog as much credit as possible once the thing turns around. How’s that going to sit with NC? He knows he can do a lot better than just lurk under Slick’s shadow.

I think it was for 3 years
From what I heard, Chow’s salary was heavy on the back end of his deal so he can maximize his payday. Any money he makes right now gets deducted from his Titans cash, so it makes sense for him to take the pay for these first couple of seasons after the Titan’s money is gone.
Neuheisel’s head is just as big as Carroll’s was at USC. He is the boss, and eventually he will step on Norm’s oversensitive toes. The Chow will complain about his salary, and get boosters to call up Guerrero to lobby for him. Good luck bruins when Norm melts down…. and he will meltdown.

Yup, yup!
Now, seeing as Slick Dick is more vocal and public about over-riding and “ix-naying” certain offensive game calls. . . . .Normy-pooh might just be getting what I call “coaching hives”, sooner- rather than later! (coaching-hives: that environment-influenced affliction of redness and itchiness. This condition usually leaves the person in perpetual frustration, unyielding anger, and brings on a limitation of vocalizing their true emotions and feelings. May very well lead to a chronic-condition. Indeed, if this occurs- congratulations! You now own an anxiety! (or. . . .another one)
Hey Coach Chow? Offensive blockers? Got some? Oh yeah, one more thing: Depth and experience? Got any of THAT?
Too bad. Sounds like a personal problem! (that’s my dad’s favorite retort. in this regard. . . . .IT TOTALLY FITS, no?)
