That is a great piece on the Trojan mindset
The writer has some good ones in there. Like, "Enjoying the heck out of it? Great moment? Doubling the fun of trying to get it done?
The guy just avoided calamity, his team nearly blowing a 20-point fourth-quarter lead on one of the sport’s largest stages, and he emerges on the other side rhyming like Dr. Seuss?"
And, of course, the last sentence says it all, “Been there, won that.”
In short, TayMay didn’t have the best of games this past weekend. We’ll give him the pass though, right?

That fake field goal
was all on him, and he’s more than red-faced about it. It was an excellent learning experience, you can’t check your brain in at the door and expect to win just because of your athletic superiority.

I'm not so sure about that one?
I didn’t know he played on special teams, and if he does on the punt team? what’s his position? When I played on special teams either as kicker or gunner- as the kicker, it was up to me to check down the opposing players and positions. Not so sure about the responsibilities on the punt return team though.
I’m talking about being the captain on D for the last two ND drives. All those 15 yard penalties, automatic 1st down BS that took place.
Tell you what, I’d say Boise State, Alabama, Texas, TCU and Florida beat our asses if we played these teams tomorrow. Straight up. We aren’t championship-level this year. I don’t think I can point to one game where we looked like we can shut people down or offensively drive us through their D. The offense looked great this past weekend. But not good enough to beat the above mentioned teams. That’s just my opinion.

The Bears game!
I was there, but DRINKING with all my Cal buddies. I won over $200 during the game (we were betting on plays, that’s how retarded we were during the game). THAT was a damn good game, whatever sentient moments I had during the game. I lost my SC buddy during the game, went for grub and some ganders at the co-eds, got great seats after that. And then. . . . .?
That was prolly the only all-around good game we played. We play like that, bottle up the QB, RB’s and wideouts/TE and play heads up ball- we can compete for the crystal. Otherwise, our inconsistency is our bane of existence in this thing called college football.

That fake field goal put ND inside the 5 yard line to set up their first TD.

The whole thing that was overlooked is that Wies was blocking out TMs view.

That was a sly one
TM actually saved the play too. Knocking that cat out of bounds. Sheeeesh! And when the ND player hoisted the ball inside and over the pylon, I thought the Pac Dumb officials were gonna give it to them? Wouldn’t have been surprised by it.

I will say this coach needs to let these guys really feel it in practice this week.
The whole Dee should be running extra before and after for the bone head hits and celebrations.

Tell The Truth Monday
You were baited when the refs didn’t flag late hits (on Barkley & McKnight) by the Domers, and Clausen sure deserved to have his read torn off, but (insert name here) your clowning could have lost it for us.

But you know and they should too that it is always going to go the way of the home.
I remember HS my team was on the road and it was a heated game and my buddy got called for 3 retaliation penalties, but we still kicked there butt. I don’t remember what coach said at the time, but we did some extra running the next week.
