As predicted Seto is the new DC

PrintPete Carroll promoted Rocky Seto to DC late Wednesday evening. This is consistant with how Coach Carroll fills his coaching vacancies. Within 1 day of Nick Holts departure Carroll has promoted Rocky Seto to DC, Ken Norton to Assistant Head Coach, and re-hired Jethro Franklin to coach the defensive line. Franklin left the Trojans in 2005, and spent his years away from USC coaching in the NFL at Tampa Bay and Houston. He also will help with recruiting this year.
All these moves keep the kids happy with the continuity. The coaches are happy with their promotions. The fans are happy because the staff is solid.
I wish I could say I am suprised and thrilled, but it seems like more of a status quo move on all this shifting around of staff.
We have a lot of young talented defensive coaches now with a lot more influence than they used to have. I like having Seto and Norton calling more shots.
