Seattle P-I Columnist Jim Moore Blasts Sarkisian
Ouch!
He is not treading lightly here...
STEVE SARKISIAN HAS now committed three NCAA violations in the past two weeks, which concerns me.
It's an impressive start for the new UW football coach, but I'm worried that he won't be able to keep the pace. He's gotten out of the blocks so fast that he'll probably fade in the coming months and might actually start following some of the rules by April. Nah, May.
If I'm a math teacher who graduated from Washington State, I've got a new story problem for my students -- "Class, if Coach Sark committed three violations in his first two months and maintains that pace for the next seven months until his first game, how many violations will he have?"
I am not going to waste a lot of time on this but I guess the honeymoon is over...
I've read in a couple of places that Sarkisian's relationship with Pete Carroll is a bit strined now that Sark and Holt intentionally targeted some players that hade commited to USC. I get the whole "WIn Forever" and "Always Compete" mantra but there were a ton of other players Sark could have gone after.
We all know that Sark is under tremendous pressure to win NOW but why put yourself in the crossfire with stupid secondary violations and the intentional targeting of of your former programs players. Why not go after Skippy's commits?
Anyway.....not a real big deal to me but i was intrigued by Moore's column.

Hey, I'm a realist...
I’m not saying that UCLA doesn’t have quality recruits, but USC has a top 5 recruiting class. Logically, if you want to get recruits, you go after the high quality ones you have had a relationship with/know and not recruits who your arch-rival has already committed.
I won’t go into Sark’s recruiting practices till our coach has a few years under his belt ;-). Some cliche about glass houses or something…
And forgot that
One of UCLA’s recent commits (McKay) actually briefly switched while visiting in Seattle.
