Hey! We got a Special Teams Coach
Well, this caught me by surprise when I received the text.
Also, special teams coordinator Brian Schneider has accepted a job at the same position at USC, leaving the Raiders after two seasons.
This means someone had to go and that someone is D-Line coach David Watson. You may recall that Watson took a leave of absence over the summer to workout some personal issues. I am not sure if those if those issues were the root of his dismissal but with Jethro Franklin coming in to take over D-Line duties you could see the writing on the wall.
SC is one of the few teams who don't have a special teams coordinator so this is big deal as this fills a specific need.
We wish David Watson luck in his future endeavors while we welcome Brian Schneider.
FIGHT ON!

Beat me to the punch
I just read this and was about to post. And your words “this is big deal as this fills a specific need” may be a bit understated, I think I would say this is a huge deal that fills a position that every modern CFB program should have on its staff. Carroll has done some great things with coaching hires so far, and let’s hope this leads to an awesome 09 season.
