Enough talk, its time to play.

This game can go one of two ways...USC comes out hot and dominates (not likely) putting PSU on its heals or PSU comes out and hits SC in the mouth making this a tight one.

I don't expect to be on the thread today (maybe spordically) as I will be at a Rose Bowl party with my folks here in AZ.

For those of you that are able to be on the thread feel free post as you see fit.

It’s now clear to me that the Rose Bowl needs to revert to the pre-1947 practice of inviting an at-large team. The PAC 10 has obviously outgrown the Big 10. Not only can’t they win, but they can’t even compete.

When I was the bar manager at the Tower Rest. on top of transamerica building in downtown LA.

We only had glenlivit and glenfedit, so I added 10 more Malts, one was sheeps dip it pretty good I don’t know if they still have it. Try and check around at bev mo and you can check with southern wine & spirts or youngs market to see witch one distributes it.

Oh and thanks for mentioning Glenmorange, I went to my fav. pub and had to with a cigar!

I really like this Penn State team

They are all ballers. They play hard for Coach. They haven’t given up an inch in their fight. My hat goes off my head in total and complete respect for the way they play the game. I dig each and everyone of those cats. Coach Paterno must be proud of those young men.

Good game guys

You were definitely the better team and while I was shocked by how poorly coached PSU was, the difference in athletic ability between the two teams was obvious. It’s a shame you guys had to play another overrated, slow Big 10 team. While some liked to talk about how good Penn St.’s defense was, the fact is the best offense they played all year was 40th in the nation. You guys are way too good for a team like that and it would have been great if you could have played on of the Big 12 or SEC teams. That would have been a fun one.

Did you actually say SC’s poor travel killed Pac-10’s Cotton Bowl arrangement? Is this accusation coming from a fUCLA fan? Really? I never seen fucla fans travel well. And remember the Rose Bowl 80% filled Wisconsin fans in 1994 and 1998?

I never claimed UCLA traveled well

but as the marquee team in the conference, how USC does in anything affects the perception of the conference. It’s pretty well known that when USC had a poor showing in Dallas that the Cotton Bowl officials were not happy and reportedly the SEC was contacted about affiliating with the bowl within a month of the USC Cotton Bowl. UCLA doesn’t travel well at all and USC’s support is far better now than it has ever been so maybe today they could fill the Cotton Bowl (or soon to be Jerry World), but USC’s poor showing doomed the Pac 10’s affiliation with the Cotton Bowl.

but I’ve been told by a number of USC fans that the football team has never been nearly as popular as it is now. If you guys were in the Cotton Bowl today I think you could sell out your allotment easily.

I haven’t been too happy watching your ketchup-clad boys clown the opposition (and us) over the Carroll Era, but there’s no doubt at all that USC is the premiere program in the Pac-10 and probably the country. Anyone knocking you guys for the wins over the Big -10 seems to be forgetting that you guys have lost one (ONE!) non-conference game since Carroll’s first year (IIRC) and that was to Texas in the NC game. You’ve beat the SEC, Big-12, Big-10-everybody. That’s a record to be proud of. Congrats to you guys, and I hope Mays, Sanchez and everyone else considering early entry leaves. We need a break.

USC has lost to Kansas State twice, Utah once, and Texas once. I think those are the only non-conference losses that Pete Carroll has over his tenure at USC. Utah and Texas were bowl games, Kansas State was a home and away. We lost them both.
