eventful first quarter
for the most part SC played great … a couple of sloppy penalties but all in all nice production.
Sanchez has had a lot of time in the pocket
the offensive line is doing its job

O line doing ok for the most part
though the got some pressure there..Sanchez doesn’t look pleased about being on his butt
52 - 7 eh?
That’s about what it looks like for the people looking at betting lines, but it sure isn’t an indication of what to expect when our beloved Trojans face an opponent designated as an “underdog” for the rest of our 2008/2009 CFB campaign. So what is that? A 45-pt. thrashing.
Being at #3, let’s just say in the Top 5 for the early polls- we should keep in mind that all we have to do is gain victory over those opponents we’re supposed to and are expected to beat. No more 41-point favorites, (well- maybe against WSU?). That Stanford game Thursday night versus OSU showed us absolutely nothing for the PAC 10. Stanford’s lines were stout, OSU’s offense sputtered- but moved the ball well at times, tackling was horrid by both teams, but I thought the coaching was great. WE HAVE TO BEAT ALL the 2nd and 3rd tier teams in our PAC 10. Losing to either Stanford or OSU will hurt us. The national coverage of last Thursday’s game was pretty high, – the fans, media, and pundits will all remember a sloppy game from those two and will remember it vividly if we should fall to them.
This victory over Virginia was expected, the game was played well at times. Our defense must cut down on their penalties and create more TO’s. Our offense needs to get CJ Gable the ball more and also to B-Rad (Allen Bradford) in the red-zone. HeyJoe coughed up that fumble, let’s hope he masters the fair catch or gets drilled at practice with fielding high flying punts where the S-team runs hard and crowds around him while he practices fielding the catch AND HOLDING ONTO THE DAMN BALL. RoJo, D-Will(iams), and PT (Turner) turned in awesome games. Havili had a few blown blocks and dropped passes, but overall looked decent. Rey-Rey, Clay, Cary Harris, Fili, Averill, and Maiava looked mean and tore-up.
Overall decent game, great play calling/clock management, and pretty disciplined play considering it was our first game. And first victory on the march towards making some serious noise this year.
I’m in Vegas, watching the Bama/Clemson game. Ran out of beverage writing this. Priorities! Can’t wait for your write-up Paragon! See y’all on Monday
