bruins lose another OL...
I have a hard time believing that their offense is going to be productive with a couple of converted tight ends on the line. Edwards was supposedly getting it done in summer school so I wonder what made him switch.
Donovan Edwards, the offensive line commit who was taking summer school classes in an effort to become eligible for UCLA, has changed his commitment and will now enroll at California.
Thats gotta hurt!
He was pretty much lock...lemme guess....GRADES Right?

Well, they have more leeway at Berkeley
I think it’s the ” Multiple Nobel Winners Exemption.” Dr Olah’s just not going to get that by himself.

It wasn't Grades
He had the grades out of HS but went to jc to get bigger and Cal let a player out of his scholarship and then offered him one.

That's less fun
I just like to make cracks about Nobel Winners Exemptions. Foiled again.

No worries DC
I cracked my arse up when I first read yours the other day! Did again this morning.
Now, if only we can find out how those Nobel-ers get off from running over women and children in their high-speed race cars? Marshawnthusiasts are feeling Bushleague these days, but they’re still looking tree-huggish too!

But then again over at B(M)N
They are bickering with the poster that reported it wasn’t about grades, and another thing I thought that if you were able to get into Cal (the mother school of the UC system) you were able to go to all as long as they have room and you have money. But the bruins think they are above all even their own kind.

Entry to the other UCs is by no means a sure thing if you get into Cal. Each campus has different standards of admission. I’ve had a few friends get into UCLA but not Cal, or into Cal but not UCLA, or into both. I’ve even had one friend that got into UCLA but not USC. A few years ago, I had heard something about if you got into UCLA, you definitely would not get into Cal due to crowding and vis-versa. Don’t know how true that is.
All fans like to trumph up their schools. It’s only natural UCLA fans would think like to think our school is the most exclusive. As for Edwards, I’ve heard everything from bad grades, to UCLA offered first but then a scholarship opened up at Cal and he had always wanted to go there. Honestly, if I were an OL recruit looking for a solid FB program, I’d go with Cal given the choice. Cal has been on the rise (for the most part), while UCLA has regressed. UCLA has work to do to attract quality recruits consistently, but we’ll get there. Everything is cyclical.

Not all
Most kids who get into Cal would also get into UCLA, but there is no guarantee. The reverse is true of kids that are accepted into UCLA.
And if you wanted to go to the most exclusive school in CA, it would be CalTech.

Right
I got into both as did my wife, so I can’t really say.
I suppose it depends on a number of factors, like whether or not you are applying to an impacted program or not. Same with any school.

I don't think they have a football team anymore
Their basketball team has/had an epic losing streak though.

When I was a kid
CalTech hacked into the Coliseum scoreboard at halftime during a game, and made the scoreboard look as though CalTech was playing MIT. Can’t remember the score, but the CalTech guys were winning the virtual game. I got a good laugh out of it.

They did that during a Rose Bowl Game too
UCLA led Illinois 38-3, but a pair of students managed to change it to Caltech 38, MIT 3. Apparently the Rose Bowl didn’t know how to fix it and they had to turn the scoreboard off.
