USC Summer Hoops Update
Bumped - Great news about DeRozan!
. . . .
Demar Derozan, one of the nation's top high school players, recently received his ACT results and it appears that his score will likely be high enough to get him past the NCAA clearinghouse and into USC. Hopefully Demar will be able to help replace the void left in scoring by the departure of OJ and keep interest high in SC Hoops.
Also, for anyone who is interested, a number of USC players are playing in the Say No Classic summer league this year. Former Trojan Basketballer Chris Penrose is coaching a team featuring incoming Juco PG Donte Smith, Daniel Hackett (now replaced with Dwight Lewis), and big man Taj Gibson. Apparently Derozan, Romeo, and Mamadou Diarra are playing on another team together as well.
I mentioned this in earlier comments, but Daniel Hackett is playing for the Italian National team this summer. Although he was named to the national team last year and may have possibly gotten the chance to be an olympian, Italy failed to qualify for the Olympics. Best of luck to him and hopefully we'll see an even better player on the court next year.
It has been a busy summer for Trojan Basketball, and while there has been a lot of controversy around the Men's Basketball recently I really think Floyd has brought a new standard to USC hoops. Next year should be another exciting season!

Hackett won't be playing in the Olympics
because Italy didn’t qualify. He’s just training and playing exhibition games with the national team.

Yes, Marcus Johnson is a very nice addition, especially since he is not even costing us a scholarship. Also, thanks for the info ryebreadraz, I must of looked up the 2004 qualifying teams instead of 2008. It will definitely be a big let down if the U.S. doesn’t bring home the gold this year with all of the talent they have.

Dual Citizenship?
I knew that Daniel Hackett was raised in Italy, but I didn’t know that he retains Italian citizenship
