Hello Eleanor!

I don’t know about you but I love cars. I grew up around cars, motorcycles, boats, dune buggies and the like. I am not into tinkering with them I just love to look at them. I used to go Ascot Raceway in Gardena and watch all the different races they had there. Ascot is gone now but I had some great memories there.

One of my favorites is the Mustang primarily the Shelby. I wrote about the Shelby Super Snake that sold for 5.5 million last year.

You too can own one custom built  535 HP for a cool $139,000!

Anyone got any spare change?

Suh-weeeeet!

I’m totally gay for cars! DOY-OING! Thanks for the boner Paragon, you’re a man of. . . ahem. . .many talents I suppose.

sidenote: my brother raced BMX at Ascot- they had a concrete racetrack with a straightaway finish that saw many crashes/pile-ups at the line. I inherited my brother’s FMF with RedLine cranks and forks and LRV Bars. It is red and alloy-gold. Still have it. Remember those old “Uni-seats” ? It’s got that too (my addition)- in metallic-gold. . .a little darker shade than the rims. And. . .just yesterday I watched with my dad (he came to LA for a visit) the entire taping of Bristol, KY Top Fuel/FunnyCar/ProStock races. 2 friggin hours. As for me, growing up I had Sears Point, Laguna Seca, Baylands Racetrack, San Jose Speedway, and Golden Gate Park BMX parks at my disposal for watching/attending racing in all forms. I LOVED “AMA Oval and Short-Track Motorcycle Racing”. Also loved open wheel Super Modified, Sprint, and Midget racing for cars. Cars, women, and money. Ahhh! the true American ideal! Hell yeah!

Nice, but

I was never a Mustang guy (I had a 68 Camaro as a kid), but I do appreciate the lines, the lineage, and the power of the ponys. Hmmm … kind of like my feelings toward SC. But I digress.

The car in the pic doesn’t look right … especially for a 67. The front looks too modern, and like they took a 67 and sort of tarted it up a bit. Is that what happened, or did the original have those millennial looking lights and molding?

Go Bears!

Yeah, its tricked out

but I really like it. some of the newer version Shelby’s have a similar front end w/o the fog lights.

The tricked out 67 GT car has grown on me…not that I’ll ever own one and I think it looks better than the 74 version in H.B. Halicki’s Original “Gone in 60 Seconds” made famous.

As far as Camaro’s goes the to find is a Yenko version...Good luck!

1971 Mach 1 Mustangs

I have a soft spot for those because that was the first Mustang I ever saw when I was a kid living in Holland. If you’re wondering why it would stand out that much, consider that I was trucking around in cars like this:

and this:

which were fine, but didn’t involve a 351 and a loud exhaust.

Oh, you Rat B@%#$#D!!!!

That is too much!

Are you one of those guys who still thinks if you travel more than 30 MPH you will die?

R…O…T…F…L…M…A…F…O (tears coming out of my eyes)

Only you…..

It's a rare event

You know how we do, hereabouts, with the traffic, but I am pretty sure that I can go more than 30 miles an hour on the rare occasion that the roads open up.

Nice cars

Carol Shelby is a patient of my dads, and my best friend named his kid after Shelby. Always loved his cars.
