Questions Re: Saturday's Game

I have a few questions/statements re: Saturday's game at Galen:

  1. First of all, feel better Paragon.
  2. My fiancee and I are thinking about heading down to SC to watch the game there. Besides Traditions and the Two-Niner, are there any other bars/restaurants around or on campus that are game friendly?
  3. I saved that sports illustrated cover with Love and Mayo on the cover in hopes of getting both their signatures. Any suggestions on when the USC team leaves Galen and is available for signatures?
Thanks guys.

You might be able to catch the team
near heritage hall before the game.  I know thats where they end up before and after practice during football season.  I'm sorry I wish I could give you more info.

Traditions sucks as a bar.  At least it did when I went to SC.  Its hard to say where the "place" to go is now since there is a "founders" bar and restaurant inside the Galen center.  Most of us old farts go there.

Indeed You Are Correct
A quick look at uclabruins.com shows the game to be a late one too (7:00pm). I like that.

I've been to Traddy's once. I felt as though it was just a fun little sh^t hole of a bar - its not much to look at, it smells like stale beer (and whatever cafeteria it is in looks like The Max from Saved By The Bell), but everyone in there was having a grand ol' time. I can't really knock it too much.

If you want to see what a really cool pub looks like, check out The Anthill Pub & Grill here:

It's not what it used to be (it was remodeled) but is still very cool and the only redeeming quality on a campus with 0 school spirit. Zot Zot!

That's pretty much it...
Traddies or the 9-0.  The latter has been remodeled and is noticeably nicer.  You can go to the 2-9 (29th Street Cafe), which is on 29th street and Hoover.  The bar in there is tiny, but you can grab a pitcher and sit outside on the back patio, which is pretty nice.  Here's the website:

Just an idea
If you want to buy a ticket to the USC basketball banquet at the end of the year, you can get any players autographs there.

Ha!
Frak, very kind offer, but I'd have to step in and revoke BruinFan1's Bruin privileges if he were to attend the USC team banquet. Can't you guys get better attendance at USC basketball events and avoid looking for uuntapped sources of income that wear blue and gold:-)

That Only Happens On One Condition
My fiancee (the Trojan)has to request it. If that happens, then yeah, I'll go for her.

Other than that, I wouldn't want to go (I might throw up).

The only reason why I want OJ Mayo's signature is because I think it will be a cool piece of USC/UCLA history for both of us to enjoy. Both these guys will have a good career in the NBA.

Heh
Well you can always try to get the players as they leave Heritage Hall or as they arrive at Galen Center.  If not, vomit isn't going to be very welcome at the banquet.

Btw the banquet sells out every year
I just get an offer to buy tickets because I'm a donor.

The Nine-O is still the place
Hey BF1- try the 9-0 if you've never been there before. Not sure what the post game crowd is like, usually only go there off-hours. It used to be the best DUMPASS divebar on the planet. Now it's a bit gentrified and genteel. Prices are reasonable and the ambience? Well the ambience is extra. It'll cost ya? (jk :)
