Pete Carroll on 60 Minutes this Sunday
This will be a fun one to watch!
USC football Coach Pete Carroll did not immediately accept the CBS invitation to be profiled on "60 Minutes" when it arrived last summer
"I was kind of doubting it at first," Carroll said Thursday. "I may not know everything about the show, but I do know they've been kind of tough on people in the past. I saw the piece they did on [Notre Dame Coach] Charlie Weis a couple years ago. I thought it was horrible."But I took a leap of faith and decided I needed to represent USC and the stuff we do for the inner city."
Carroll will be the focus of a "60 Minutes" segment Sunday between 7 and 8 p.m. on Channel 2. Carroll was interviewed by Byron Pitts on campus, at practice, in the locker room and during his late-night trips to the inner city, where Carroll, who has started a group, A Better LA, makes contact with young men on the street.
I for one will be watching it....Way to represent Pete!

So. . . . . BigBallsPete is gonna talk a little about . . .
. . . the whole Reggie Bush clusterf_ck, ay? Well that sounds nice. AT LEAST SOMEONE’S GONNA DO A LITTLE TALKIN’ ALREADY! I mean, is it just me? Or has this stuff magically received 9 lives? I was still studying at USC when all this scheit hit the fan, and I know I’ve been through 2 cars, bought a house, fell in love at least 4 times- and subsequently “out of”, . . .what? I’m still in a mad search for my one and only! She’s avoiding me or something? Damn! I digressed, a-freaking-gain!
So yeah, when’s this Lloyd Lake m-fer gonna turn state’s evidence to Miles “Loc’d Up” Brand. I heard he and his counsel got serious dirt on our “out of control” institution. Alright already. Can someone just get that man HIS MONEY! Reggie might be intelligent, but he ain’t smart. He had complete control over making this a non-issue way back when it blew up. All that Kim. . . .and all that money . . . ? Kim, alone- can drive a man crazy. Factor in money, and one can easily start talking to oneself- all giddy about booty and silly about greeeeen!
I am going to watch 60-Minutes with Coach Carroll. I’m going to watch it and feel sorry for every other program that DOESN’T have a Pete Carroll as a head football coach.

No
Pete Carroll and I aren’t gonna watch 60-Minutes together. I was only referring to the Pete Carroll piece that will air. (I gotta lay off Pumpkin latte’s. Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf! If you haven’t yet, TRY ’EM. Their sublime)

I Understand Carroll's Worries
Once that footage gets to the editing room they can do pretty much whatever they want. Hopefully they will represent USC in a fair manner.
on the other hand
For someone who does a lot of charity work and can be a good sport, Weis has an amazing ability to turn people off and horrible self-presentation. I think that Carroll’s concern should be less about being protrayed as an ass, and more about being portrayed as a flake… because when you think about people who “get” college football, 60 Minutes specifically and NYC journalists specifically are not the first group who come to mind.
