Excuse Me? Masoli has a Matt Leinart moment...

Interesting comments from Oregon QB Jerimiah Masoli.

From P-E College Blog...

Masoli: "We feel like we have the better team, but tonight they just scored more points. We just gave that one away . . . The game was in our hands the whole time.''

The whole time?

OK, I'll bite...based on what?

You guys got schooled last night just we did against OSU so now is not the time to be making those kind of statements, take your medicine and come back to fight another day. You have done a pretty good job since coming up from SFCC but lets not get ahead of ourselves OK? Couple these comments along with the comments from Johnson and Blount and you just have to shake your head.

Unbelievable!

ugh.

Masoli may not be the starting QB much longer.

I agree that you’re not 34 points better than us talent wise, but when you factor in bad coaching, what should be a 14 point SC win turns into a rout. I don’t know what Masoli’s thinking, because at no point after the first quarter were we in control of the game. Maybe if they prepared instead of running their mouth…..

Oh, and we’re supposed to have one of the top five secondaries in the country, and they looked like JV players.

Bottom line, you guys flat out whooped our asses, and this “we think we’re the better team” crap is a joke.

They keep thinking that...

And we’ll have a tough time winning any more games all season. If this team expects ANYTHING to be handed to them, they are wrong…

It’s one thing to lose…it’s another thing to have your players say crap like that.

Leinart made that statement

after a 3 point loss, and losing the lead with 19 seconds to go. It was a dumb thing to say, but who knows, maybe USC had the better team, but lost on that day. I personally wouldn’t take anything away from Texas, but in the heat of the moment, Leinart said what any other competitor would say. Masoli’s making that statement is just playing stupid. Lsoing by 34 points, and scoring 3 points in the last 3 quarters, and 7 points after receiving 2 personal foul calls, isn’t what I would call a good offensive team. USC made a complete mockery of their secondary. Masoli reminds me of Tyler “Tinker” Ebell saying that he would have beaten Carson Palmer’s 2002 team had they not had to abandon the running game in the 1st quarter.

Cal should've made this comment in 2004

:p

But besides that this is ridiculous. How can you claim you had it in your hands and let ’SC score 30 odd unanswered points on you..?

In other words, Go Bears!

and they could have justified it in '04

But whatever it was that Masoli had in his hands the whole time, it wasn’t the game.

One second.

Everyone talks shit. Blount just happend to say it to a reporter. All talking shit aside you kicked our asses across the field and back.

Blount at least did it pre-game

That at least shows optimism, confidence in yourself, and so on.

Ugh...

I’ll just shake my head at Masoli for that one.
Nobody really expected Oregon to beat the Ducks, save maybe some disillusioned fans – and Masoli.

Oregon has a lot of raw talent. USC has a lot more than just raw talent.

It's spelled "S-h-u-f-a-i-l"
