Arizona loses 3 hoops recruits

First major fall out of the Lute Olson surprise retirement:

Link.

"Abdul Gaddy, Solomon Hill and Mike Moser have all told Arizona media sources that they will look elsewhere now that Olson has retired. He left the program unexpectedly last Thursday.

Hill, from Los Angeles, is considering hometown USC, among other schools. Moser, from Portland, Ore., joined Hill in decommitting last week."

Anyone have any info on Hill? I'm assuming he's a decent player since he was going to head to Arizona. I wonder if our odds of landing him are pretty good now...

Solomon Hill

According to uschoops.com, Hill met with USC coaches this past weekend. I think that Hill is a bit of an underrated athlete, and has an interesting set of skills. He has been described as a hybrid “point forward” thanks to his excellent vision and passing skills to go along with his scoring and rebounding ability. Hill was basically down to UA and USC at the end of his recruiting, and USC will be set on the wings for years to come if he commits along with incoming prospect Noel Johnson.

Definitely agree on the wings. Hill looks like at least a 3 year player, which would be good for USC basketball.

I've seen Hill twice (once in person, once in a video - full game)

In the first game he was the C, and in the second he was the PG. Aside from that, not much was notable. He was outplayed in both games by his opponent (a no-name in the first, Oscar Bellfield in the second). To be honest I was very surprised to find he was good enough to go to Arizona. FWIW, I also saw Chase Stanback in high school, and Hill was nowhere near as good.

Gaddy chooses UW

No surprise there. Dude was from my least favorite Tacoma school Bellarmine Prep, going to Washington wasn’t a big stretch.

Hill seems to have USC as his #1.

You know what? Fuck you Sports Gods, fuck you.
