BlogPoll Ballot ending week #9 (Draft)

Again, not a lot of movement at the top as everyone won their games.

Texas had their hands full against a good Oklahoma State team. You can see where Texas has some deficiency on defense and if their opponent has a good defense Texas is not able to score at will as they have against other teams. Yes, Mizzou has a good defense but I think a demoralized Mizzou from their loss the previous week against Oklahoma St. had more to do with their blow out AT Texas.

Because OK St. played UT tough they only drop 3 spots.

Same with Ohio State. They played PSU very tough at The Shoe but they fell short due to a late turn over. You can look at that game and also say that maybe PSU, while very good, might not be as good as once thought because they were held in check for most of the game until that turnover enabled them to score. PSU hasn't played the toughest schedule but they have won all of their games, including Oregon State who we lost to but that means nothing if we were to play PSU head to head, so that is probably splitting hairs.

Its hard to do these polls without peaking at what the AP and Coaches are thinking. Obviously some conferences are tougher than others but at the same time teams like Utah, Boise St. and Tulsa should get some consideration for their accomplishments but should any of these teams who are undefeated be ranked ahead of a one loss team from a tougher conference? Hard to say but while the conventional wisdom does reward being undefeated it is not to the point of jumping the big boys who have earned their position just not by their record but by reputation as well. Is it fair? Probably not but I just can't justify doing it different.

So, here it is!

Have at it...
