BlogPoll Ballot ending week #8 (Draft)
OK here it is...
UPDATED...commentary below.
There are mostly minor changes in the top 10 of this week’s poll.
Texas is for real…what a machine, but they have some work yet to do. their defense has a few holes as we saw against Oklahoma and the personality of that program makes them uncomfortable when they are in front of the pack. They like having a chip on their shoulder but now they have a target on their back.
PSU struggled early against Michigan but they turned it around. I am still not sold on PSU just like some aren’t sold on USC. Props to them for going into Wisconsin and dominating, but Wiscy has shown that they are less than advertised. PSU has some of the same issues that USC has in regards to strength of schedule, no conference championship etc. If they beat tOSU they go to the title game because its smooth sailing. Lose to tOSU and chaos will ensue…
Oklahoma jumps up 2 with their impressive win against Kansas.
Alabama continues to struggle in the 2nd half of games so they are down a spot. They will also lose a game before its all said and done.
USC moves up one spot because they have pitched shut outs two weeks in a row…that’s difficult to achieve regardless of who you play.
Florida was on a bye-week…
Oklahoma State continues to impress and they crack my Top 10.
UGA and Utah remain unchanged but I will note that UGA continues to struggle. I don’t want to hear about Vandy, it was a nice story for a little while but UGA should have beat them more convincingly especially at home. They need to step it up to ensure that they beat Florida, simple as that…
As for the rest of the poll…
The big winners are Pitt, GT, TCU and USF with impressive wins. BYU takes the biggest plunge with their loss to TCU, where was that against Texas? Tulsa put almost 800 up on UTEP…unreal.

Just a quick comment
… since this is the 2nd preliminary ballot where I’ve seen it. What’s the logic in Oklahoma jumping USC this week, after a pretty meh effort against Kansas while USC pitched a 69-0 shutout (admittedly of a very bad WSU team)? I could maybe understand leaving things that way if you had Oklahoma above USC last week, but nothing happened this week that ought to change anyone’s opinion on how to rank them. Though in your case you might be trying to avoid the C/K award…

Tulsa is ranked! Paragon is a believer?
I’d switch Okie State and Texas Tech though

F_cking Cal!
There goes a ranked opponent for us in the near future. Just when I thought the Pac 10 was for real (this year), they punk out and tank it just to make me look like an idiot. (hell yeah I’m taking it personally!).
I understand about Alabama struggling, but they’re still undefeated. And in the SEC. Yes, they MIGHT lose a game, but they haven’t yet.
2. Alabama
3. Penn St.
4. Oklahoma
Tulsa, Ball St. and Virginia Tech! Goodness gracious, mercy me! Satan’s on the pitch. Satan’s on the pitch!
