Sanchez will start against ASU
From The P-E College Blog.
Just in, USC Coach Pete Carroll told his Trojans team at the final Friday walk-through the Mark Sanchez will start at quarter back Friday against Arizona State.
Here's the word. It's on Carroll's www.uscripsit.com blog.
Sanchez to start Saturday
10-10-2008 3:57 p.m.Mark Sanchez will start at quarterback in Saturday's game against Arizona State, Coach Pete Carroll announced this afternoon.
The decision comes only six days after Sanchez suffered a left knee injury in the third quarter of last week's game against Oregon. The redshirt junior returned to practice Wednesday and participated in nearly all of Thursday's workout.
"Mark has bounced back from this injury in great fashion," Carroll said. "He's fought back all week and is ready to go."
Not really a surprise...

Sanchez
Is this guy just one tough m-fer? Or is he a total numskull? The risk of further injuring his knee(s) is practically a career decision at this point. I guess he feels now that it’s “his” time, he’s not gonna let Hell or high-water take him from his perch. Mustain’s TD in our last game vs. Oregon must have made that football sitting aloft of his shoulder pads say to him, “Dude, buddy. Do you really wanna be replaced by the "other” Gatorade player of the year? Don’t forget, you’re gonna have the “other other” Gatorade player of the year to contend with during next Spring’s football camp, so- get on the good foot and get yourself able to play versus ASU."
As much as I like Mark Sanchez and all he brings to the table, I’m starting to wonder if he’s just some mad baller or some loony tune. Here’s hoping he comes away from this game unscathed and does so well that he gets pulled early in the 3rd quarter and gives some reps to Mustain. He can’t afford to get caught up in some weird play that aggravates his tender knees at this point of the season and at this point of his career. I wanna see him to do well, I don’t wanna see him get hurt anymore than he has already has this year.
