This is something that I think USC fans should care about, esp. given their (undeserved) rep as being silver spoon types. It's wrong that the athletes don't get any stipend but it's just as wrong that the gear is being made in near-slavery conditions.

University of Southern California's licensed apparel is made in sweatshops, and the university refuses to do anything about it. More than a year and a half ago, students presented the administration with the Designated Suppliers Program, which would ensure that USC apparel is produced in factories where workers have the right to form a union and earn a living wage. However, instead of making a commitment to workers' rights, President Sample has refused to even meet with students. Let President Sample know that USC has an obligation to listen to its students and stand up for the rights of workers.
