Mike Bellotti to UCLA - Breaking News
Heard from a very reliable source tonight that Mike Bellotti will be taking the UCLA job within the next few days.
Chris Petersen is now the front runner to take the job at Oregon along with Jeff Tedford of California. Again, I wouldn't post this if I didn't have inside information.
Bellotti is looking for a change as their is a rift growing with the Oregon press over his family issues and the way he handled the Dennis Dixon ordeal. I've heard from one of the assistant coaches family members that none of the staff knew that Dixon actually had a torn ACL going into the Arizona game.
I would describe the atmosphere in the Casonova Center right now between the staff members as ICE COLD and it shows in the way the players and coaching have melted down to end the season.
I've known this family up close and personal for a number of years and this is a good thing for Oregon football - Things have a way of coming out in the wash in the end.

No no no! I don't wanna eat a BUG
So, if it is. Than it is.
What a shame. I used to like the little bastard- loony-tune-wife and all. Whatever. He's one of them now, I guess. (but I sincerely hope not)

Very reliable source!
He is one of the most connected scouts in the country and is an unbelievable Duck and Bellotti supporter. I doubt he is pulling my leg on this one.
I coached at Sheldon High School in Eugene for a number of years and I know the family as well as the line coach as I taught all the kids as well.
I know the media situation with Colleen and Luke hasn't gone over very well, but the kicker may have been the fact that the coaches on staff had no idea that Dixon had a torn ACL and there has been a lot of ill-feeling within the staff over this.
Luke Bellotti's DUI has caused some discern with the players as any other player would have been booted 10 times over and I think given the way the season melted down, the feeling might be that this would be his last chance to take a premium coaching position. The next flare up or meltdown to a season might be his last and I know the Moos situation caught Bellotti by surprise as the two were very close.
I'm not sure he cared for the way that whole situation carried itself out. Make no mistake, Phil Knight has tremendous influence on this athletic department and if you start connecting the dots you read a little between the lines it makes sense. As soon as I can track my source down and confirm I will let you guys know.
I thought the article today smelled a little fishy with Bellotti turning the Bruins down. The Bellotti family is from California and I think he is at a point where he might want to end up returning to his roots and UCLA with the Rose Bowl is about as good as it gets.
The other thing to think about is maybe Bellotti knows something about the Reggie Bush scenario at USC. I love to Trojans and coach Carroll, but if something heavy comes down would Carroll leave for the NFL. If you read between the lines, he isn't exactly in love with the BCS methods and motives. Of course I'm speculating, but in this day and age with the coaching zoology, you never know.
In the end, this is good move for everyone, Oregon, UCLA and the PAC-10 as it will do nothing but make our conference stronger in the end.

Which would explain...
Does anyone know if Bellotti's a Mason? Or a member of the Trilateral Commission? I think they might be involved as well.

who knows...
We beat him then we will beat him again, looking at the numbers it will take him a little while to get things rolling across town.
Petersen coming UO would be great as he would add some really fun and competition to the Pac 10, now if we could only get UW and UA a solid coach the Pac 10 could really light things up.

Totally Paragon
Do you not like Willingham or Stoops? I hear they still have the HC positions pretty locked up at UW and UA respectively. Oh dear, don't tell me YOU HAVE INSIDE INFORMATION TOO ???? (are they outta there? so to speak?)
I THINK IT'S A PREREQUISITE THAT A NEW AND PROSPECTIVE HEAD COACH GOING TO A NEW CAMPUS
MUST PERFECT THE ART AND POSTURE OF A HABITUAL LIAR!
I don't know guys, if I were an athlete or a student attending University of Arkansas or UCLA- I don't think I could trust my incoming coach as far as I could throw him. If the Bellotti flip-flop is true, these two ol' boys both lie like a rug.

I'm with you
Sheeeee! fUcla can get Pete Carroll's doppelganger (who is that again? i hear it's Owen Wilson)- we'll still try to tear 'em to pieces sideline to sideline endzone to endzone.
on a sidenote: that Wulff head coach at Wash State looks much like Harbaugh at Stanford. Uncanny resemblance?
btw: Willingham and Stoops have stunk it up. Although Willingham's teams have always played 'SC very well for some inexplicable reason. Ty is a great guy (when not being a coach) in person. I met him in high school while attending Los Gatos High. We had our regionals against Gunn, Palo Alto, Lynbrook, Mitty, and St. Francis for the Academic Decathlon Team competition on the Stanford Campus when he was coaching there. He toured a few of us around campus. Ever been to the "Rodin Gardens" on Stanford campus? It's quite a beautiful little nook on the campus- over by the old (fenced-up) "Science Library" in between the Chem-Campus. Check it out next time you make it to Hoover Tower on University. It's just a jaunt away from The Tower. Ty served up green tea and croissants to about 10 of us at the Rodin Gardens. (hollowed-out bronze life-size replicas of August Rodin's most famous works. Including "The Gates of Hell"- which is fantastic!)

False Alarm - Sorry guys.
I think Neuweasel would be good for UCLA. I think he got a raw deal over the NCAA basketball pool, but his arrogance will need to be in check if he returns to college football.
