Bellotti Staying in Oregon

Always the bridesmaid never the bride

Well that was quick, Per Dohn:

Ducks' Bellotti rebuffs UCLA
By Brian Dohn
Article Last Updated: 12/21/2007 12:01:11 PM PST

Mike Bellotti has rebuffed overtures from UCLA and will remain head coach at Oregon, leaving Rick Neuheisel as the apparent front-runner to become the Bruins' next football coach. An announcement is expected today.

Bellotti had met Thursday with UCLA athletic director Dan Guerrero, who has been interviewing candidates since firing Karl Dorrell on Dec. 3.

Bellotti, the dean of Pac-10 football coaches, has a 105-50 record with Oregon and had the Ducks in the 2007 national-title hunt until quarterback Dennis Dixon injured a knee in November.

Neuheisel, the one-time UCLA quarterback, is the Baltimore Ravens' offensive coordinator and a former college head coach at Colorado and Washington.

Neuheisel and Temple head coach Al Golden have had two rounds of interviews with UCLA officials.

I guess he got his raise.

Oh well, better luck next time fellas!

GIve me a break
ucla will never outbid Oregon and their Nike money.  Oregon has cash, and now Mike Bellotti has more of it.  ucla never had a chance at this guy.

agreed
Belotti would have been stupid to leave. Top class facilities, NIKE money, "sweet" jerseys, spread offense, interest in Terrel Pryor (nation's top recruit), awesome stadium and fans, etc..

How stupid is Dan Guerrero and his administrators, "armed" with like 1.5mm or something. Nice try, Dan.
My hunch...Dwayne Walker. As funny as that sounds, I am dead serious.

I'm rooting for Walker
Just to see the outcry from the UCLA blog community.  They've really shown a lack of class for a long time.  They deserve to get someone they don't like.

Funny thing is
I think Walker probably would be a better coach than Dorrell.  He will never get the blessing of the community though.  They are too shaken up by Dorrell to get behind anyone else without a whole lot of experience running a team.

D.C. A.D.
Directionally Challenged Athletic Director

Where is this guy going, when will it all stop, how will this end?

I knew I wouldn't have to eat a bug. Now ice-skating in Hell? I'm sure if it came down to it, I wouldn't see many strangers. Down there.

Gimme a N.E.U -. . .(blah, blah, blah,you get the picture)
